Hi, I’m Alexia.
I’m half Greek, half English, and I grew up on the island of Rhodes in Greece. When I was about 10, my parents found out I had scoliosis. Even though I was assessed by top specialists, I never let it stop me. I spent hours walking around the house on my hands, practicing backflips and handstands—anything that let me move. I loved gymnastics, and dance was a big part of my life. I took dance classes, performed, and found so much joy expressing myself through movement.
Later, I left Greece and moved to London to study and work. During that time, I developed anxiety. One day, I came across a yoga class—and for the first time, I felt truly free. I was reconnecting with my breath, my body, and a sense of ease I hadn’t felt since I was a child.
I went on to become a flight attendant, which was always a dream of mine. I’m so grateful to have seen beautiful places and experienced so many cultures. One of my favorite pastimes while traveling is finding lovely yoga studios abroad.
In 2019, I moved to Haarlem, craving a quieter life by the sea. While I was happy to be closer to nature, I also felt lost—like I didn’t quite belong anywhere.
Then I found Glow Yoga, and I’m forever grateful for the wonderful teachers and the community it offers. It became my anchor during a turbulent time when the pandemic had hit. My yoga practice became more and more consistent and I became more and more curious about all the wonderful teachings and the magic that yoga can bring.
One day, something clicked in class when Claudia said, “Find home within yourself.” That stayed with me. My mat became that home—something I can roll out anywhere in the world and find peace.
I’ve loved diving deeper into yoga—not just the movement, but the philosophy too. I have over 600 hours of yoga teacher training and I’m forever a yogi student. Yoga has held so much space for me, and I hope to hold that same space for others. I’ve trained with Claudia, Daphne, Simon Park, and Shiva Rea, and I continue to learn and grow as both a student and teacher.
Yoga brings me back to the joy I felt as a kid—dancing, moving freely, and not taking life too seriously. It’s taught me to soften, accept myself fully, and come home—again and again—to my body, heart, and breath.
