Hi, I’m Maren!
I’m originally from Germany, and after travelling for a while, I found a home away from home in Haarlem. My yoga practice helps me find my way home. It’s where I strengthen my connection with myself – with my body, my breath and my heart.
You might also find me talking passionately about human psychology, feeling most alive skiing in the mountains on a bluebird day, or feeling peaceful painting with acrylics, preferably with my bare hands. And usually with a steaming cup of tea close by.
Curiosity is one of my biggest values, alongside connection. It’s what led me to dive headfirst into the study of psychology, complete a trauma-informed yoga teacher training, and later explore the fascinating world of the neurobiology of the nervous system.
Over time, I began to see how beautifully these worlds complement each other. Psychology gave me a deeper understanding of the human mind and behaviour. Yoga brought me into the wisdom of the body and soul. And learning about the nervous system became the bridge between the two. These three perspectives, mind, body and nervous system, have become the cornerstones of both my work and my personal practice.
In a world that moves increasingly fast, it can be so easy to lose touch with our own inner world, our own rhythm. It’s easy to become overstimulated, disconnected or exhausted. At Glow, my intention is to offer a space where you don’t have to keep up. A space to slow down, come back into your body, release what no longer needs to be held, rest, restore, and resource yourself. So that you can leave with a little more space, clarity, balance and aliveness – and take that with you into life beyond the mat.
