Sun 28 June: Functional & Embodied Cueing for Yoga Teachers | A one day immersion with Claudia

Explore the art of cueing through movement, observation, language and embodied experience.

How can we cue in a way that supports embodiment rather than performance?

And how can we use language to create more ease, awareness and understanding in movement?

In this one day immersion we explore the art of cueing through movement, observation, language and embodied experience.

We begin the day with an exploratory asana practice using props, the wall and functional movement principles to better understand the function of some of the most common yoga postures in the body.

From there we break down the practiced poses through key actions, movement patterns and cueing principles. Together we explore themes such as technical versus energetic cueing, “cues come in twos”, and cueing from the ground up and from center to periphery.

As the day continues, we begin to look more closely at how different bodies may experience the same posture differently and why different cueing works for different people. Through observation and partner work, we explore common movement and compensation patterns and learn how to adapt cueing in a more supportive and functional way.

The afternoon includes word labs and teaching exercises where we explore using inviting and inclusive language and begin to develop cueing language that feels authentic to your own voice as a teacher.

This training is for yoga teachers who want to deepen their understanding of asana practice, refine their teaching and develop cueing that feels intelligent, adaptable and authentic.

Expect a day of movement, curiosity, practical tools, aha moments and meaningful conversations about the art of teaching.
