Urban yogini, nature lover, teacher trainer, lover of life, the moon, chocolate & dog Jay
Daphne Koken was born and raised in a little village in the beautiful south of the Netherlands. She moved to Amsterdam in 2000. Although she had been practicing yoga for a while, this is where her practice got serious. As a busy marketeer and world traveller, she came back to her mat every day to find peace of mind and to give space for her energy to move freely. Living an urban life as a full time yogini is energizing and exciting, yet can be challenging at times. Yoga is a wonderful way to find balance.
Daphne is a certified Prana Vinyasa teacher. She has been training with her root teacher Shiva Rea for over 500 hours and she is still going back to study with and assist Shiva at least once a year. The studies of Prana Vinyasa Yoga had a major impact on her self practice and on the way she teaches vinyasa yoga.
Nature has always been an important part of her life. Growing up in the country side, taking care of dogs and horses, she grew a deep love and respect for nature. The elements in nature and the cycles of the sun and the moon are her main source of inspiration for regular classes and retreats. As a passionate traveller, she loves to spend time around mountains, rivers and forests to recharge and find inspiration.
At Glow, Daphne shares the teachings of vinyasa yoga in a down to earth and fun way in her regular classes and in our 200hrs Glow Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training. She also offers Vinyasa courses and masterclasses to invite you to dive deeper and embody, live and breathe the vinyasa of life.
