Join Simon Park for a 3-day 25hrs vinyasa yoga teacher training intensive!

Explore the topic of “Spaciousness” from a teaching perspective in this unique Teacher’s (Un-)Training 25-Hour Yoga Liquid Flow weekend and Immersion with Simon Park

“ How do you move a room of students, irrelevant of backgrounds, pulsing organically together, in one energetic ocean that keeps feeding upon itself? How do you experience a deep stillness like after surfing a long, perfect wave? “ – Gwyn Williams founder of Zenthai Shiatsu

As yoga teachers, we aim to become a master of our craft. There are so many aspects of this. the physical embodiment, honoring tradition, expressing our unique creativity, and the ability to see our students’ limitations and great potential.

This lifelong practice sometimes seems like a long path of learning and doing. When and how do we start to Be what we practice?

What are the elements in orchestrating a seemingly perfect sequence, with or without music.. and the pauses? The capacity to see all the students and their potential.. and to adapt accordingly? How do you experience timeless stillness inside of movement?

In this “ Teacher’s Un-training ”, we will explore the attitudinal foundations, skills and practices to experience this spacious awareness as teachers, on our yoga mats, in meditation and throughout our lives.

The premise is that we do this by creating space in our own practice by:

  • Slowing down. Learning to listen, to wait, to tune in.
  • Honoring where you are now, not forcing, being mindful of challenges.
  • Practicing consciously. Linking body, breath and mind.

This course will explore:

●  Alignment and Key Actions: Explore physical alignment and energetic key actions inside foundational to advanced poses, moving toward more ease and fluidity in yoga and daily movement.

●  Creative Sequencing: Wave sequencing for organically progressing toward complexity without pushing the agenda of a practice,

●  Verbal Cues: Simple and effective instructions that speak to the body, mind and heart.

●  Refined Hands-On Assists: Make assists that are informative, supportive, sensitive, and empowering.

●  Qigong Flow to Yin: Integration of traditional Qigong movements and Yin Yoga for energy cultivation and restoration restoration.

Therapeutic Approach: Address injuries, creating a safe and healing practice for all levels.

●  Pranayama: Use pranayama as a gateway to the subtle body, introducing breath and energy nuances.

●  Mindfulness Meditation: Learn the basic principles and practice of mindfulness meditation for health and well-being.

●  Healing Arts Integration: Zenthai Shiatsu, a practice of ‘focused intention’ – a combination of traditional Thai Massage, Shiatsu and Osteopathy as a modality that is complementary to your teaching and practice.

About Simon Park

Simon Park began his Yoga journey in 1995 with Shiva Rea in the World Arts and Cultures Department at UCLA. Later acclaimed by Yoga Journal as “one of the most influential and gifted Yoga teachers of the next generation”, he has been leading workshops, teacher trainings, and retreats around the world since 2002.

His free-style Vinyasa is fluid, intuitive, and encourages freedom through self-expression. Profoundly influenced by the teachings of Shiva Rea, Richard Freeman, Maty Ezraty, Joan White, and Dharma Mitra, ‘Liquid Flow Yoga’ feels like a beautiful dance between classical and modern Yoga.

Dubbed the “Flying Nomad”, he draws inspiration from road legends such as Jimi Hendrix, who said, “the Earth is my home”.
Simon brings 25 years of study, practice, and assisting with Shiva Rea, Maty Ezraty, Richard Freeman, and Dharma Mittra.

ABOUT SIMON’S LIQUID FLOW YOGA STYLE

A Vinyasa Flow practice that holds the structure and discipline of Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga, infused with powerful elegance and creativity.. a fresh and inspired blend of modern vinyasa with classical roots.
Practice dynamic asana as a movement mediation in an open system with close attention to physical + energetic alignment and awareness of complementary actions. There is a focus on steady awareness and mindfulness in all stages of the practice: setting the intention and space, building and sustaining positive energy, creative transitions and the space to explore the powerful possibility of each asana.
Throughout the practice, there is a keen observation upon the subtleties of the breath and how it affects the physical and energy body. Principles of Vinyasa Krama are utilized in a modern way to create an evolutionary practice that aims to awaken, invigorate and harmonize body, mind and spirit.
