Strengthen & Opening, a backbend exploration with international teacher Joan
In this two hour practice Joan will guide you through a transformational practice focused around backbends. Backbends strengthen our spine and open the front body. They leave us feeling energized and uplifted. When approached in a calm and grounded manner, they can be very therapeutic for your spine. It’s important to strengthen your back body first before approaching these deep postures. Joan will warm you up with a vinyasa flow practice focused around sun salutations and standing postures before moving into a focused approach to backbends.
We will end with quieting postures and pranayama to cultivate an inward place that harnesses the energy gained from these potent poses.
All levels welcome! Joan will unpack these poses in a way that makes them accessible to everyone!
