Stem coaching (1-daagse verdiepingstraining)
Date: 27 November 2020
Teacher: Esther Lek

Voertaal is Nederlands. This module will be taught in Dutch!

Via onze stem laten we onszelf horen/kennen: we maken ons kenbaar. Voelen we ons gekend? Herkend? Erkend?  Onze stem(ming) is bepalend. Komen we over?

Sequencing Basics (1-day Immersion)
Date: 22 November 2020
Teacher: Daphne Koken

Learn to create intelligent vinyasa sequences in a safe, sustainable and playful way! Have you finished your 200 hour foundation yoga training, yet still looking for ways to create your own sequences? Then this 1-day teacher immersion might be exactly what you need.

Based on her experience as a vinyasa teacher trainer, Daphne created an innovative, modular vinyasa yoga sequence. This D.I.Y. (Do-it-Yourself) – sequence will help you to understand and honor the logic of vinyasa and it will give you the tools to create your own classes. You will start building from a safe structure that allows for freedom and creativity at the same time. Using the building blocks of this intelligent sequence in different ways, you will be able to create classes that are suitable for both beginning and intermediate students. You will learn how to adapt your sequence to the flow of the moment.

After flowing through the full sequence for your own embodiment, Daphne will explain both the logic and the potential of the sequence. We will analyse the kramas (build up of poses), from an anatomical and energetic perspective and we will explore how to spice up or ease down the flow. You will be playing with the building blocks to become familiar with the logic.

This one day intensive can also be used as part of your Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Program.

New Ways of Teaching Yoga (1-day Immersion)
Date: 4 December 2020
Teachers: Claudia van der Tier & Daphne Koken

“Using Props, Cues & Self-assists”: New Ways of Teaching Yoga

Everything is in a constant flux of change. In yoga we call this phenomenon “parinamavada”.  The world around us has been changing as never before and definitely has affected the way we teach yoga. We teach more online and we have less options to support students on their mats.

These changing times are inviting us to become more creative and more clear in our instructions. Experienced vinyasa yoga teacher trainers Claudia and Daphne have clustered a set of tools to support you as a teacher to find new ways of teaching.

During this 1-day immersion we will share ways of using props and self-assists for promoting safe alignment. We will dive into the art of effective and inspiring cueing to guide students into an embodied experience of their practice. Also we will focus on important do’s and don’ts when teaching online classes.

This 1-day intensive can also be followed online and can also be used as part of your Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Program.

Relax and let go! Gentle Vinyasa Sequencing (25 hrs)
Dates18/19/20 December 2020
Teachers: Daphne Koken & Claudia van der Tier

Within the vinyasa yoga system there is space for the quality of ‘sukha’, meaning ‘ease’. Dive into the lunar arts and learn how to create vinyasa sequences that invite your students to slow down and shift from a state of ‘doing’ to a state of ‘being’. Entering a state of gentleness towards ourselves invites us to let go of too much effort and helps us to tune in with the flow of Prana, life energy itself. Once we enter this state, we start to replenish and nourish our essence, Ojas, which will leave us both energized and relaxed at the same time.

During this module you will learn different ways of sequencing gentle vinyasa classes and you will receive tools to create an atmosphere that allows your students to let go and relax. The use of vocabulary, voice, music and mantra will be part of this training.

Prana & the Subtle Body (25 hrs)
Dates: 22/23/24 January 2021
Teachers: Rob Hess

The word Prana comes from the Sanskrit word “pra” (to fill) and is added to the root word “na” (to breath or to live). Prana is the substance of life and the basis of all creation.

As we dive deep into this weekend we will find pathways into a greater understanding of the movements of Prana, the Kosha’s and how to creatively use these tools in creating a unique flow for you and your students. We will be working our way to a beautiful practice where we allow the movements of the Divine life force to flow freely and see that when we surrender to the flow of Prana and tune into the unique subtle energies of the body we connect on a greater and deeper level.

The Logic & Magic of Creative Namaskars (1-day Immersion)
Date: 2 April 2021
Teacher: Daphne Koken

Explore the logic and intelligence of behind the art of creating namaskars.

This immersion is honoring the sacred roots of surya namaskar as a foundation for embodied and safe vinyasa practice. Namaskars invite us to deepen our breath and to connect with the rhythm of our life force, Prana. While flowing through namaskar, our mind can shift, allowing us to dive into a moving meditation that awakens our body, promoting both stability and flow.

As vinyasa yoga teachers we have access to the logic and intelligence of krama, which allows us to create sequences that are safe, sustainable and magical at the same time. We can apply that same intelligence to the creation of namaskars, adding more krama and thus safety to our practice. Once we understand the logic, creativity will find its way throughout the whole structure of our sequence, adding magic to the experience of our students.

During this immersion, we will go through the principles of sequencing and we will apply this logic to the creation of our own namaskars. We will be studying key actions and kramas and there will be time to co-create and practice teaching.

NOTE: This 1-day Immersion is for vinyasa yoga teachers with experience in creating vinyasa yoga classes based on the principles of vinyasa. Note that Peak Pose Sequencing is a required module for this 1-day immersion.

The Embodied Teacher
Data: 18/19/20 Juni 2021
Teachers: Esther Lek & Claudia van der Tier

Voertaal is Nederlands. This module will be taught in Dutch!

Esther over haar worskhops:

We zullen stilstaan in tijd t.o.v. niet-tijd, leegte t.o.v. aanwezigheid, spreken t.o.v. luisteren.
